6-8 Religion: God is Trustworthy!
We had a good week in Middle School Religion. Grade 6-7 are continuing along with their Faith and Life Curriculum, and we have discussed the goodness of God and His Creation, the importance of prayer, the organization of the Bible, and how the Bible is inspired by God. A major point of our discussions has been, and always will be the following: that God created everything good, humans messed up God’s plan with our own free will, God then called a people to Himself, made covenants with them (an exchange of persons, not goods), KEPT His covenants even when they did not, and ultimately fulfilling His covenant in Jesus. As such, we know that God keeps His promises, is trustworthy, and therefore, we can trust Him (and so can you!).
This same message extends into the 8th Grade Encounter Curriculum, as they continue their brief journey through the Story of Salvation. This week, we also discussed how the jealousy can lead to far more serious sinning. The context: the jealousy of Joseph’s (OT) brothers.
An exam was administered last Thursday. I am awaiting a few things before I’m able to give the graded exam back to the students.
For 6th and 7th Grade, they will have a new exam on Monday (September 14), pending any delays. For 8th Grade, they might have an exam this Friday (September 11).
