Refining Our Essay Assignment: ‘A Personal Reflection about Royalmont’
In ELA this week, each middle school student finished the first draft of a major writing assignment. Now that they have finished drafting their personal reflections about how Royalmont Academy has shaped them thus far, they are ready to fine-tune their writing. Next week, we’ll be focusing on how to make their essays more engaging. We’ll polish grammar. We’ll sharpen word choice. We’ll fix formatting issues.
Meanwhile, in literature, 5th grade finished The Little Flower, by Mary Fabyan Windeatt. To celebrate, we watched the first scene of Therese in class. Next week, we’ll move on to The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
Fifth grade’s copies of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe will come straight from the hands of 6th grade, which is moving on to St. Catherine of Siena, by Mary Fabyan Windeatt. (The two classes traded authors!)
