Ad Analysis, a Giant Flood, and a Really Big Break-Up

Ecumenism

Our ecumenical scholars dove into the biggest break up in Church History – the schism of the East and West. Ask your student about the different stages of the break up!

Old Testament

We were up to our eyebrows in water this week as we studied the Flood narrative in Genesis and all the events that led up to it. A piece of trivia to ponder – why was it so important for animals to go in pairs onto the ark?

Apologetics

Agnosticism was the topic of the week (in both its intellectual and indifferent varieties). The week ended with a visit from Mrs. Douglas-Fowler, who shared her experience of debate with the students.

Logic

Sigh…why do ads commit so many logical fallacies? They’re everywhere, especially in our fallacies from this week. The students worked on creating their own fallacious ads on Friday so as to recognize them more readily.

Rhetoric

Another week, another building block(s) of rhetoric – emotion and the enthymeme. Which is harder, evoking emotion or writing an enthymeme? Stay tuned to hear the answer!
