5th grade: This week, we began studying the design process to see how engineers come up with new inventions. Students began projects where they are creating and testing a new classroom tool. They have enjoyed experiencing engineering!

6th grade: This week, we continued practicing thermal energy and heat transfer. Students completed their tests on Friday, and those grades will be entered into the 2nd quarter gradebook. Test corrections will be offered on Monday, and students will have a week to complete them.

7th grade: We continued studying the 4 spheres of Earth as well as why seasons occur. Students made interactive notes to better understand what causes days, years, and seasons. They also found out that Earth’s tilt plays the biggest role in our changing seasons, as the varying daylight causes varying levels of heat.

8th grade: This week, students began working on their solo earthquake projects. Each student chose an earthquake and began studying its history, seismic waves, and aftermath. The 8th graders will give presentations on Tuesday regarding their chosen earthquake.
