6-8 Religion – We MUST Love Everyone!

David Brunsman · October 22, 2026

The major theme of this week throughout 6-8 Religion is that we are to love because He loved us first! And all of this is possible because of the grace He gives to us through the Church, the Sacraments, and by other means. What a blessing it is that we have a Church to give us Jesus’ particular graces in order that we might grow in holiness, and thus, love our neighbor as He loves our neighbor.

Eighth Grade is finally wrapping up with Encounter – our walk through the Story of Salvation (quiz to be given sometime next week). After that, we’ll be moving on to the history of Church Councils.

Seventh Grade is learning how Jesus’ grace is given to us through the Church, and how He, as the source, feeds us spiritually and sacramentally. We finally turned a bit of a corner in that the foundational content we discussed during Week 02 is now coming full circle and the dots are now connecting! We’ve had some very interesting (and good) conversations this week.

Sixth Grade is working through the sacraments. Last week, we discussed honoring our parents, and this week we are working through what “Thou shall not kill” means, and the range of topic has led to some interesting discussions. Similarly to what’s going on in Seventh Grade, the dots are connecting with the introductory topics we covered during the first weeks of school.

Unfortunately, no pictures this week. I’ll try to do better next week. Thanks for reading!
