7th Grade Religion – Aug. 27

August 27, 2026

This week, we started our Faith and Life (Ignatius Press) curriculum. We are working through Chapter 01: Knowing God Through Creation. One lesson, which is intended to take one day, has been taking two days. This is to be expected considering that we are just coming off of Summer break.

This week, we have discussed that we can know of God’s existence simply by looking at Creation, and that human beings are made in God’s image (our dignity). Tomorrow (Friday), I am hoping to begin the lesson about God’s revelation to us.

Regarding worksheets, I’m working on an option for textbooks going home, as I’m aware that some students have been frustrated about this. Please be patient with me. In the interim, we have been reading the related text passages together as a class, and we have been reviewing question – and answers – to the worksheets in class, so that, once they are home, they can synthesize our discussion for the purposes of completion.

The most important thing that your child can do right now is to review all handouts that are sent home (they are listed in Facts). This is the material the kids will be quizzed on.

At this rate, we will likely have our first quiz at the end of next week. My intention is, for the first quiz, to review the questions and answers the day before administration to ease the kids’ anxiety over the first exam.

Attached to this message, I have shared our “Year At A Glance” for your review.

We had a great week and the kids have been working very hard!
