Building Stamina in Kindergarten

Karen Gately · October 8, 2026

October is Right to Life month, and the school is collecting money for babies and new moms to help buy supplies that they need. Feel free to send in any spare change. We get a donut party if we can fill our baby bottle!

We joined the rest of the elementary school this week to participate in a living rosary. It was beautiful for all of us!

I have professional development on Wednesday and Mrs. Acosta will be our guest teacher for the day. Thanks for a great week!

  • Reading – This week we added the letter /Ll/ the sight word /is/. We read the Little Scarecrow Boy.
  • Math – Continued practicing on decomposing numbers and finding the number pattern and picture pattern when we organize all the ways to make a number.
  • Writing – This week we practice building our stamina by tracking how long we could work without distracting ourselves or our neighbors. We made it 7 whole minutes!! Our goal is 10 minutes. We also worked on editing by going back and adding details and writing labels.
  • Religion – We toured the chapel with Father Jesus and learned about God’s house the church.
  • Science – Seasons and Trees
