No Scaredy Squirrels Here

Karen Gately · October 22, 2026

We are officially in the 2nd quarter! I am looking forward to meeting with all you next week to check in on your child’s progress so far in kindergarten. If you have not signed up for conferences, please do so soon!

Our All-Saint’s Day parade will be on Thursday. I sent home a little saint report. Please help your child fill this out. It is okay for you to write it down for them 🙂 We are also having a trunk or treat. The students really enjoyed this last year. Please consider participating. I promise you will love it as much as the kids do!

  • Reading – This week we added the letter /Tt/ the sight word /am/. We read Scaredy Squirrel and non-fiction books about squirrels.
  • Math – We worked on measuring with non-standard units.
  • Writing – We practiced being brave spellers. We are working on just trying our best to spell words by ourselves. You can help at home by not always jumping in and telling them how to spell a word. There is a lot of learning in the struggle.
  • Religion – We are learning all about the lives of the saints and how they can help us grow in virtue.
  • Science – We learned all about squirrels.
