Second Grade is Growing in Friendship
2nd Grade Newsletter October 12th – October 16th
Dear Second Grade Families-
It was a good week at Royalmont in Second Grade. We participated in a living Rosary with the elementary school on Wednesday which was the Feast of the Most Holy Rosary. On Thursday morning we began our day with class Mass. Our students once again did a great job proclaiming the readings and, leading the prayer of the faithful and bringing up the gifts. It is always a special time, when Fr. Jesus speaks directly to us. He spoke to us this week on making room in our hearts to receive Jesus. Fr. Jesus reminded us of how Saint Carlo Acutis relied on Blessed Mother Mary and her Rosary as a way to learn how to be a good friend to Jesus. As we grow in friendship with Jesus, we hope to grow in friendship with one another. We are all learning how to be good friends in Second Grade. In the coming weeks we will be reading good books and practicing the skills and manners necessary to develop good friendships. We will strategically incorporate game time so that we have more opportunity to develop these important skills. It is my hope that students will be able to better advocate for themselves with their peers in a manner that is both respectful and honest.
Our weekly newsletter is attached to this article and in your child’s red folder. Please remember that Tuesday is Gala out of uniform day for $5. Wednesday is 1:30 dismissal. On Tuesday students can bring in stuffies because both the cookie jar and the star jar are full! Nice work, Second Grade!
Also, please discuss with your child the heavenly friend (Saint) they would like to dress up as at our Saint Parade on October 29.
We will begin creating our saint reports in school this week.
Have a joyful week!
